| Heartburn Seminar and Screening |
Description: About one in 10 adults suffers from heartburn, and over time, chronic heartburn can lead to scarring and narrowing of the esophagus, making it difficult to swallow foods and liquids. Even worse, prolonged heartburn can lead to esophageal cancer. GI Specialist Juan Carlos Teran, MD and general surgeon Francisco Rodriguez, MD, FACS, will discuss heartburn, swallowing disorders and the importance of receiving early treatment from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Cowden Center.
