About College Nursing Programs




Who is eligible to participate in the College Nursing Programs?

Anyone affiliated with John C. Lincoln (JCL) and interested in becoming a nurse is eligible to participate in the Associate Nursing Degree Program. JCL employees and members of the public are also invited to apply for the Bachelor Degree Program. You must be a current JCL nurse to participate in the RN to BSN and Master Degree Nursing programs.

Do I have to take classes before starting classes at the College Nursing Programs?

Yes. You must take pre-requisite classes and then apply directly to an affiliated nursing program before joining our college nursing programs. You can earn your associate degree or bachelor degree in partnership with either Maricopa Community Colleges or Grand Canyon University.

What pre-requisite classes are required?

Information about pre-requisite classes is available through the individual nursing program you choose. Please visit Maricopa Community College District Nursing Program or Grand Canyon University College of Nursing and Health Sciences for more information.

Do I have to apply to John C. Lincoln College Nursing Programs?

Yes. Students affiliated with JCL may be eligible for priority placement in the Maricopa Community College District Nursing Program (MCCDNP) if:

  • They are in the last semester of pre-reqs in the MCCDNP or
  • They have recently completed all pre-reqs in the MCCDNP.

For placement into the upcoming January class, JCL Affiliate Applications are available on August 1. The deadline to submit completed applications is the last week of October.

Students who are interested in the Bachelor program must apply through Grand Canyon University and specify the JCL partnership.

Do you offer financial assistance?

For those seeking an associate or bachelor degree in nursing, financial assistance may be offered through the school's financial aid department. JCL employees seeking a degree in nursing should contact Human Resources about employee benefits related to the following nursing education programs.

  • Associates Degree
  • Bachelor Degree
  • RN to BSN Degree
  • Master in Nursing Degree

JCL employees may be eligible for tuition reimbursement benefits. For information about tuition assistance contact our Human Resources Benefit Office.

Additional financial assistance may be available through the school's financial aid department.

How long does it take to complete the Associate degree RN program?

The PVCC/JCLHN Nursing program partnership is on a traditional academic calendar and will take 2 years to complete. Classes are held Monday through Friday. Breaks each year include approximately 3 months off for summer, 4 weeks off for winter and 1 week off for spring break.

How long does it take to complete the Bachelors degree RN program?

The Grand Canyon University nursing program partnership is a "fast track" and will take 21 months to complete, going to school year round.
