John C. Lincoln’s recently upgraded Hologic digital mammography equipment and processes have earned complete accreditation for the provision of digital mammography—with flying colors—following a review by inspectors from the American College of Radiology.
"In my 15-plus years of experience as a radiologist specializing in breast imaging, I have never seen a perfect score on the inspectors' checklist for submitted films, until now," marveled Breast Care Center Medical Director Corliss Chun, MD. "There was not a single deficiency marked on the final score!"
Digital mammography is a relatively new technology that significantly expands the ability of the mammographer to detect cancerous breast tissue and other anomalies at the earliest stage of development.
Because digital images can be enhanced, magnified or manipulated for further evaluation, they provide the clearest, most comprehensive images possible. This is true even for women with dense breast tissue, women younger than 50 and women who are pre- or peri-menopausal.
"Please join me in congratulating Breast Care Center Clinical Director Sherry Gage, her staff and Dr. Chun on such a marvelous achievement," said North Mountain Vice President Cathy Lindstrom.
"Please tell your friends, neighbors and patients about our upgraded technology and the superb care offered to women in our Breast Care Center." |
